01

Who we are

Nouplay Studios ("Nouplay", "we", "us", "our") is a game development agency established in 2016 and based in Port Louis, Mauritius. We make original game titles and client work across mobile, console, and web.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal data when you visit our website, play our games, or work with us as a client or partner. We process personal data in accordance with the Mauritius Data Protection Act 2017 (DPA) and, where applicable to players and clients in the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

02

Data we collect

We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run our studio and services. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:

  • Contact details — your name and email address when you submit our contact form or email us directly.
  • Project information — details you share about your game, platform, budget, or brief when enquiring about our services.
  • Business records — contracts, invoices, and correspondence when you become a client or supplier.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited, collected automatically when you browse this website.
  • In-game data — where our games collect data (such as progress, crash reports, or account identifiers), this is described in the privacy notice of the specific game.

We do not collect special categories of personal data (such as health, religious, or biometric data) through this website.

03

How we use your data

We use personal data to:

  • Respond to enquiries and messages sent through our contact form or by email.
  • Prepare proposals, negotiate, and perform contracts for game development services.
  • Operate, maintain, and improve our website and games.
  • Fix bugs, diagnose crashes, and improve the performance of our titles.
  • Meet legal obligations, such as accounting, tax, and record-keeping requirements in Mauritius.
  • Protect our legal rights and prevent fraud or misuse of our services.

We do not sell personal data. Ever. That would be a bad ending.

05

Sharing & international transfers

We only share personal data with third parties when necessary:

  • Service providers — hosting, email, analytics, and productivity tools that process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements.
  • Publishers & platforms — where required to ship and operate a game (e.g. app stores, console platform holders), under their own privacy terms.
  • Professional advisers — lawyers, accountants, and auditors where reasonably necessary.
  • Authorities — where required by law, court order, or to protect legal rights.

Some of our service providers are located outside Mauritius. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place as required by the Mauritius DPA 2017, such as transfers to jurisdictions with adequate protection or under suitable contractual clauses.

06

Cookies & analytics

Our website is intentionally light on tracking:

  • We use only the cookies and local storage strictly necessary for the website to function.
  • Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may log your IP address when fonts are fetched. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • If we introduce analytics in future, we will update this policy and request consent where required.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time.

07

Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected:

  • Enquiries — up to 24 months after our last exchange, unless you become a client.
  • Client & contract records — for the duration of the relationship plus the period required by Mauritian law (generally up to 7 years for accounting records).
  • Technical logs — typically no more than 12 months.

When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it securely.

08

Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include access controls, encryption in transit, secure hosting, and limiting access to personal data to team members who need it for their work.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take the safety of your data seriously and will notify you and the Data Protection Office of Mauritius of any breach as required by law.

09

Children's privacy

This website is intended for business audiences and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children through this site.

Where our games are playable by children, each title complies with the age-rating and privacy rules of the platforms it ships on, and any data practices are described in that game's own privacy notice. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

10

Your rights

Under the Mauritius Data Protection Act 2017 (and the GDPR where it applies), you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data where there is no lawful reason to keep it.
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.
  • Withdrawal of consent — withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.
▸ HOW TO EXERCISE YOUR RIGHTS: email us at [email protected]. We respond within one month. You may also lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Office of Mauritius.
11

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — like a game, it gets patched. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows the current version. Material changes will be highlighted on this page, and where required by law, we will seek your consent again.
